Brief
To open-up the internal and external rear walls at ground floor level to provide an open-plan kitchen with living and dining rooms. An additional 1st floor rear extension was proposed to provide additional bedroom and bathroom facilities.
Aim
To include large bi-fold doors and a large lantern-style roof window so that the vast external gardens link directly with the space.
Solution
A mix of masonry cavity wall construction, structural steel frames, timber roof and floor framing and reinforced concrete footings were used to achieve the desired result.
